Kickin' Ash With Kayla: Perdomo Slow-Aged Lot 826 Cigar Review

Perdomo Slow-Aged Lot 826 Cigar with Lighter

Perdomo Slow-Aged Lot 826 Construction

Perdomo’s Slow-Aged Lot 826 Maduro is blended using long filler tobaccos grown in four different regions of Nicaragua, including a pungent ligero leaf. Concealing this complex blend of fillers is a Nicaraguan binder and a dark chocolate colored Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. The wrapper leaf is smooth and oily with minimal petite veins. The length of the seven-inch stick is plump and nicely-filled with no palpable soft spots. The cap is squarely mounted and cuts cleanly using the punch cutter on the Lotus 26 Single Flame Torch Lighter.

Flavor & Aroma

The pre-light aroma is robust and earthy with a pronounced bouquet of barnyard vegetation and crushed black pepper. The cold draw gives off gentle flavors of coffee, cocoa, and pepper. Once lit, the first few puffs are overwhelmingly sweet but crisp notes of crushed black peppercorn quickly steal the focus. Gentle flavors of cocoa bean and earth develop towards the end of the first third. The cocoa and earth strengthen in the second third and remain the focal point to the end of the stick. The sweetness is ever present on the finish. A faint woodsy flavor develops in the final third.

Burn and Smoking Characteristics

The draw on the Perdomo Slow-Aged Maduro is clear and easy, producing large plumes of thick, white smoke with each puff. The dark gray ash grows to just over an inch before the first drop. The burn is slow and even with a total smoking time of one hour and thirty-six minutes.

Conclusion of Perdomo Slow-Aged Lot 826

The Perdomo Slow-Aged Maduro Churchill is a delightful surprise. The price point (under $3 a stick) is amazing considering the quality of this cigar. The flavor profile is consistent and the burn is superb. This is definitely a staple to keep in your humidor.
