Construction:
A new, limited production launch from Oliveros’s spinoff company, Boutique Blends Cigars, the Aging Room Quattro features a stunning Indonesian Sumatra wrapper. This limited availability wrapper was found in a European cigar factory that had gone under. The wrapper leaf has been slowly aging since 2003. The wrapper tobacco is an alluring deep brown color with very few petite veins. The cigar is exquisitely constructed with a perfectly placed triple thick cap.
Flavor & Cold Draw:
The perfectly aged Sumatra wrapper gives off a faint bouquet of semi-sweet coco, earth, and nutmeg. The foot has a pleasant aroma of barnyard vegetation. The cold draw is perfectly open with delicious flavors of earth and black pepper, leaving an intense tingle on the tongue. Once lit, the initial flavor is intense black pepper. In the second third the pepper fades leaving room for cedar and wood notes.
Burn & Smoking Characteristics:
The draw is perfect and the burn is even.
Conclusion:
This was a good smoke, but I think it needs a bit more complexity. I love trying new brands. They have a lot to prove so you usually get more bang for your buck.
