Drew Estate announced last week the release of the Undercrown ShadyXV, a limited edition blend that will follow the lineage of the Corona Viva and Dogma blends in the highly-coveted Undercrown line. The “UC ShadyXV” is the product of a partnership between Jonathan Drew and Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s career-long manager and co-owner of Eminem’s record label, Shady Records.
The release of Undercrown ShadyXV will commemorate the 15-year anniversary of Shady Records. The limited edition cigars will be available in 10-count soft packs and will only be sold at a limited number of retail cigar shops around the Detroit, Michigan metropolitan area, as well as a few other select Michigan cites. Drew Estate will only manufacture 500 cigars in total, with each 10-pack retailing for $99.95 MSRP. They will surely be in high demand among cigar lovers and Eminem fans alike.
This news comes only months after the controversial Swisher acquisition of Drew Estate. It seems that although Jonathan Drew is not your typical cigar industry entrepreneur, he is indeed a smart businessman that does everything in his power to grow the cigar lifestyle, even if it means pursuing some unconventional partnerships and deals.
As a lover of hip hop culture, Jonathan Drew has been looking forward to this release for quite some time and is excited to be partnering with his long-time favorite artist and producer, Marshall “Eminem” Mathers and Shady Records. In response to the deal, Jonathan Drew commented, “this project has been in the works for some time and I couldn’t be more amped that it’s finally coming to fruition. Anyone who knows JD understands my affinity towards hip-hop, so to have this opportunity to work with Paul Rosenberg and the Shady family is a true honor. Drew Estate is always on the cutting edge and ‘in the cut’ — and the Undercrown ShadyXV is no exception. This will be a collector’s piece for both the Drew Estate and the Shady fan.”
The Undercrown ShadyXV is a 5 x 50 box-pressed belicoso with a San Andres, Mexico wrapper, a Connecticut Stalk Cut Habano binder and a Nicaraguan and Brazilian filler.
