Great for the price...but

I've been using this for the past few months with no issues. It takes perfectly good care of my cigars, and maintains humidity into the 2-3 week range without much need for conditioning. My only flaw with this product, is the clips to seal the caddy shut, are removable, and one of mine was loose to begin with. I've since lost one of the clips, and now am not able to fully seal the case any longer. I'm not sure why the clips are removable, since the whole intention of this is to be sealed shut.

Cigar Caddy 3400 5 Cigar Travel Humidor

Great travel cigar case, use a Boveda pack instead of the sponge

As others mentioned, the chemical smell from the foam is overpowering at first. I took out the foam (held with double stick tape) and put it in a bit ziplock bag and with one of those activated charcoal air purifiers. I left it in there for a day and the smell is still there, but definately not as strong anymore. I should have left it in there for a few more days, but I doubt you can ever get rid of the smell entirely. However I decided to just use it already. First thing I did was to remove the crappy sponge and put in a 69% humidity boveda pack behind the foam. I only had a 60g pack on me, but it still fits in there fine. A small pack would work better though. Filled up the case with 5 cigars and I put in a small hygrometer to test it. After about a day, the hygrometer was at exactly 68%. I later smoked one of the cigars and it tasted fine, unaffected by the chemical smell from the foam. I did have cellophane wrap on the cigar, but I don't think it will affect naked cigars in there. The clasps do seem a little fragile, but if you open it carefully and not rip it open like an oyster shell, it should last you a while. Great for travel, camping, or golfing to share with some buddies.
