The main story coming out this week is that Ray Lewis may have taken a PED (performance enhancing drug). He has never failed a drug screening by the NFL, much less been suspended; however, Lance Armstrong never tested positive for a PED when he was winning all those titles either. Ray Lewis has built his legacy on his Christian faith, hard work, and integrity. All I know is that if Ray Lewis is found to be a cheater then we might as well outlaw professional sports, because if he is cheating, everyone is cheating.
I feel that these two teams match up very well, and on paper it should be a great game. The Ravens are going to play solid defense but with Kaepernick and this “pistol” offense what adjustments will the Ravens make to stop them? Joe Flacco has been great since the start of the playoffs. To go into Denver and beat Payton Manning, then to follow that up with going to Foxborough and beating Tom Brady is impressive. In my opinion he has been the most important player in these playoffs. They are in this game because of Flacco, not their defense or Ray Rice (he is no Trent Dilfer). Let’s not forget that the 49ers play great defense as well. So this game could be a 17 to 10 game or a 52 to 47 game, it could go either way.
So I know you are all waiting on my pick for this game so you can get your bets into Vegas right away, but I have to admit that this is going to be a tough pick for all the reasons I gave above. Here is how I see it playing out:
49ers – 21 – Ravens – 28 – Ray Lewis goes out a true champion.
Joe Flacco will be MVP
