I am certainly no Redskins fan, but I am not sure if they handled RG3’s injury the right way. This guy is going to be your franchise Quarterback for a long time so you have to ask yourself, do I risk a playoff game for this guy’s possible career? You never ever ask player if he is ready to go. Unless he is on crunches he is going to tell you that he can play (unless your Christen Ponder – OUCH). Even if they won that game against Seattle, what would they have done now? It was not the Superbowl, you sit him and play the backup Cousins if there was any chance at all that he could injure himself further. Even watching the game he appeared to be hampered by his knee. He had no explosion, burst of speed or leg drive on the deep ball like the RG3 that has been playing all season. Now the reports are he has a full ACL tear, you are talking about a full year to recover unless you are Adrian Peterson.
Now that is how you start of the playoffs, GO STRONG or GO HOME!!! I was 4 and 0 on Wild Card weekend, so I am shooting for a perfect playoff record. I think Green Bay made a big statement and the other 3 winners all looked beatable in the next round. With that said I think you know where I am going with my picks this week. I still have my Superbowl pick alive in the playoffs Green Bay and New England.
Here is how I see wildcard weekend playing out
Saturday, Jan 12
Ravens at Broncos – Winner Broncos
Packers at 49ers – Winner Packers
Sunday, Jan 06
Seahawks at Falcons – Winner Falcons
Texans at Patriots – Winner Patriots
