Stylish Storage – Modern Day Super Garages
In today’s day and age, garages are no longer big, cold, dark rooms to store automobiles and other sentimental treasures. They are now being developed into stylish and intricate rooms that are being used for both entertainment and practical use. A garage has become a living space and now serves multiple purposes. Some garages are developed into places of relaxation while others are being turned into functional showrooms. Below are a list of some of the most beautiful, elegant and fun garages known to man:
This beautiful man cave belongs to Chris from Minneapolis. This elegant garage serves both as a storage space for cars, tools and other vehicles as well as a living space. This garage comes complete with flat screen television sets, surround sound audio system, a full bathroom, a full kitchen with major appliances and comfortable sitting areas with sofas. It almost doesn’t feel correct to call this room a garage since it is so large and unique. The strategically placed lighting within the garage gives it a romantic feel and could be suitable for a venue to host a small get together.
This scenic garage overseeing a beautiful look of western Los Angeles belongs to owner Holger Schubert. This garage is not just incredibly stylish, but it is also very eco friendly. The garage and house include a number of sustainable building products that were used in design and development. Electric screens on large window walls help to control climate, 47 solar panels generate the family’s energy consumption, all walls are insulated with natural cotton fiber insulation and LED lights are used to conserve electricity. The 1,200 foot space has enough room for a vehicle, couch, slide away television, small kitchen, library and bathroom. This minimalist look allows the vehicle to be the focal point of the room drawing attention to the artistic automobile design.
This incredible garage belongs to late night television host Jay leno. Leno is very well known for his obsession over vehicles and his extensive collection of vehicles. He currently owns over 100 vehicles and over 90 motorcycles that he stores in his massive Burbank garage. He also has an online website entirely dedicated to the vehicles within his garage. Leno’s garage is more massive than stylish. The combination of his deep car collection and the showroom look to his garage makes it seem like his car storage is more of a museum than anything. Leno’s garage comes with a full restoration and service center so he can maintain his beauties. The garage also boasts one of the greatest collections of automobile art and memorabilia. This garage is a car collectors dream and a racing fanatic’s fantasy.
The UK company Cardok has changed the way people look at garages by offering underground storages for vehicles. This company provides underground “garages” for a single vehicle or for multiple vehicles. The construction of a single car Cardok can take up to ten weeks and run you just over $60,000. An over-under double Cardok that will store two vehicles can run you over $70,000. Not only are Cardok garages stylish and secure, but they free up an entire standard garage within a home to be developed into a living space or entertainment room. The Cardok is very discrete and can go unnoticed providing excellent security for vehicles.
Lastly, we have a custom garage owned by Food Networks Guy Fieri. This garage was featured on the DIY Networks show Garage Mahal and was made over to look like a hot rod lover’s haven. This custom garage comes complete with flat screen televisions and a full bar with a beer keg cooler. The garage design is similar to that of a classic dinner and can easily function as one. The unique art around the area is inspired by Fieri’s tattoos which includes lots of flames and skulls. The metal plating around the area gives the garage the hot rod appeal and lets visitors know that they are in a rugged garage. Hoods of two vintage Chevelles adorn the bar to complete the look and feel of this hybrid food and car lover’s garage.
The modern day garage has evolved from the garages that we once knew. They have become places of leisure, activity and entertainment as well as a great storage place for vehicles. Garage transformations along with garage door replacements are a great way to add value to any home. These unique and creative ideas have inspired many to transform their ordinary, boring garages into multipurpose rooms full of amenities.
