The Avant Garde Melange (5″ x 50)
Hi I’m Stephanie with CheapHumidors.com and today we’re back with another unboxing, our cigar box today is the Avant Garde Melange. It’s by Cornelius and Anthony and this box is pretty interesting. It has a raised label on top and it’s pretty simple, on the sides there’s really nothing same with the back. When you turn it over, to look at the bottom, you see that there’s an indent so these boxes can easily be stacked on top of each other with their raised logo. Then you see a little brief description about Cornelius and Anthony Avant Garde Cigars, and they just tell you about their premium hand-rolled cigars. Just all around good stuff.
So let’s get into the box. Alright so once you open it you see the Avant Garde logo printed, well it’s printed and then glued onto the lid of the box. Then when you come down to the actual cigars you see a little pamphlet that’s in the box. It tells you, down here on the second paragraph, the same thing that was on the bottom of the box. The top paragraph talks about the Cornelius and Anthony family and how they’ve been working with premium tobacco for quite awhile now. Then when you fold that back you are going to see a Boveda packet, just to help keep these cigars fresh as they’re on their travel to your destination and then you see the cigars. Now I thought this was really cool because typically with cigar boxes they just layer the cigars on top of each other, but this one has two removable trays. Now onto the cigar, this cigar is the Melange so it’s the Robusto size, it’s 5 inches long with a 50 ring gauge. This cigar hails from the Dominican Republic and the filler is a blend of Cuban-seed Dominican long-fillers. It’s then wrapped in a Brazilian Habano and that makes this a medium to full bodied stick, it’s going to have a lot of flavor notes throughout it. It’s going to be very complex but it’s going to be very smooth at the same time, so expect some earthy notes and probably some nutty vanilla notes as well. The bands are quite stunning, they’re beautiful embossed and die-cut. Their’s two bands, you got a footer band and the standard cigar band, on the top standard band it just says Avant Garde and on the bottom foot band it’s the Cornelius and Anthony band.
So that wraps it up for our unboxing today of the Avant Garde Melange. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve ever tried the Avant Garde or if you’re interested in trying it.
