Cult Classic Cigar Review
The Cigar: It’s October in Florida—so, basically nothing has changed. It’s still ninety degrees, and there’s not a beautifully colored leaf in sight! With pumpkin carving tools and an Oktoberfest beer at the ready, I lit up the Cult Classic Robusto—one of our featured “We Love Halloween” week cigars. Trying to get in the right frame of mind for the coming season, I guess.
This is a good looking stick with a veiny wrapper. It’s put together well with a great cap. This wouldn’t be my first choice, but it’s a pretty good smoke. The flavor is not overly complex and the cigar has a woody flavor with cinnamon, vanilla, and floral overtones. I found the floral flavors to be a bit too much at times.
When you first light this smoke you get a strong flavor, then it dies down mid-way, soon to ramp back up for a powerful finish. The Cult has an easy burn and loose draw with thick creamy smoke (unfortunately, I had to relight twice). Despite its mild flavor—honestly, I prefer a bit more punch—this cigar has a nice aroma and is an enjoyable smoke.
The Lighter: I happened to have my Colibri Firebird Rocket lighter in my pocket. One of my favorites, this butane torch lighter is easy-to-use and has an oversized flame adjuster and a powerful single torch flame. The single action ignition and visible fuel window just add to the goodness.
