Cigar: Alec Bradley Select Cabinet Reserve
Perfect Pair: Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch
Time of Day: Any
Construction: Excellent. Alan Rubin has again delivered a phenomenally constructed cigar with a great, smooth wrapper, flawless burn, and smooth draw throughout the cigar.
Taste: What can I say? This is one of my favorite cigars. If I’ve been in the humidor for more than ten minutes and can’t make up my mind, there’s a strong chance that this will end up in my hand as my standard go-to. Whereas other cigars are have the notational subtlety of a marching band, the Alec Bradley SCR has the subtle progression of a fine concerto. A gentle spice pervades the cigar, leaving and coming with such subtlety that it’s hard to notice the changes in the flavor consciously. A sweet note follows the spice through portions of the cigar, balancing out nicely with the spice and consistent leathery notes.
Recommendation: I love this cigar. Buy this cigar. I see it in stores for $7-$8 per stick and it’s worth every penny. This is probably in my top 20 favorite cigars of all time. Alan Rubin, thank you for a great smoke.
