“Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald
“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
― Winston Churchill

I have watched football for well over 30 years now (God, I just dated myself) and I can swear I say this about the 4th or 5th week of every football season, “Man I don’t know a thing about this game”. I saw my beloved Buccaneers go to a division rival last Thursday night. Atlanta is team that they are very familiar with, being they play twice a year. So you thought they would have a decent game plan, right? Well as everyone saw, my Bucs got an absolute beating laid on them. The very next week they have to play, the vaunted Pittsburg Steelers in Hines Field. The only good news about that was, it was early September and the weather was nice. Also our starting quarterback was out and we were going with 2nd year player Mike Glennon. Just so you know Ben Roethlisberger is 19 and 2 at home verses all NFC teams, and yes the Bucs are an NFC team. That is a pretty solid stat to say the least. So needless to say I went into that game with ZERO hopes that we would win. I was actually just pulling for a game that I could continue to watch in the fourth quarter, and not want to throw up!
Well here comes the part that still blows my mind: we won! Now let that sink in a minute, the Bucs just beat Pittsburg in Hines Field! ANYONE pick that in any pool they were in? Glennon lead a drive with 40 seconds left, zero time outs and beat Big Ben at his own game, in his own house. I have to say that would have been one of the happiest days of my life…. If I had not already assumed they lost, when they failed to score on the 4th down play with 1:27 seconds to play. Yep, I was that guy. As anyone will tell you, I am the biggest Bucs fan in the world and I have loved them through thick and thin. Yet on Sunday after thinking my heart and soul was let down again I gave up on them. I went outside and had a cigar. I got a text from Tom (our warehouse manager) and it said “Go Bucs!” I thought you are a jerk for stabbing me while down, but at that moment I came back inside to see the score flash and went into football fan nirvana. I turned on the DVR and watched the ending, because I just happened to be recording the game.
I hope that win turns around this season, that would be something awesome. On a side note, when did Brady and New England get this bad? I have them winning the Super Bowl and after what I saw last night, I think the Bucs have a better chance than the Patriots.

Fantasy Tip of the Week
This was the best case scenario for me. Bucs won but I was right about Big Ben having a huge day (314 yards and 3 touchdowns… your welcome!). This week I really like Cam Newton’s chances of having a big game against the pathetic Bears Defense. Right now he is the only weapon that Carolina has in their backfield with all three of their start running backs hurt.
Victory Cigar of the Week
Last week I smoked the CAO Brazilia Amazon, which is one of my favorite sticks. This week I’m planning on smoking the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990.
