I so badly wanted to believe that the amazing running back Adrian Peterson had made this one mistake of “punishing his child” and that he would learn from it and have a chance to show his remorse and prove his true character. Although what he did was inexcusable, I think people jump to labeling so easily by referring to him as a child abuser after one instance. But days later, another case of abuse involving his other 4 year old (how many does he have?) came out and changed my perception even though all the details of the case are still not disclosed. At first, the Vikings made the decision to allow him to play while his case played out (which they’ve faced major scrutiny for), but then reversed that decision days later. Within the last 48 hours, major sponsors like the Radisson have cut ties with the Minnesota Vikings and issued a statement on why they came to that decision. Nike stores also not only removed all Adrian Peterson jerseys and memorabilia from their shelves, but just announced they also suspended their contract. The entire team is now paying for his mistakes and will continue to do so this season. Adrian Peterson signed on to be an ambassador for the team name on his jersey and now that team’s reputation is at stake because of his actions.
Week 2 had some upsets – like how on earth did the Browns beat the Saints and the Chargers beat the Seahawks? And my Buccaneers couldn’t get it together either, so don’t even get me started on that one! As you know, we’re giving away an awesome product each week, so if you can correctly predict all 5 winners in the games listed below, you’ll win (granted that I miss one of my picks) a FREE Baseball Bat BBQ Soft Flame Butane Lighter. This lighter has a nice soft flame on it, which is perfect for your next BBQ (it’s still grilling season, right?) So please submit your 5 winner predictions, along with your name, and e-mail address (so I can contact you if you win) in the comments section of this post.
Congratulations to last week’s winner of the NFL Predictions Contest:
Fantasy Tip of the Week
Brees got 2 TD passes last week, you’re welcome! Start who I like to call the Twin Towers in Chicago (Brandon Marshall or Alshon Jeffery). The Jets pass defense is in the middle of the pack but they do not have anyone close to the size of these two. They are going to have major match up problems. I think Peyton Manning is going to Seattle for some revenge this weekend against the Seahawks – do I really need to mention why? In my predictions, Denver will come out ahead with a win even though it’s tough playing in Seattle.
Victory Cigar of the Week
During week 2, I smoked the Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne, which is a super mild stick that tastes of oats. This week I’m planning on smoking My Uzi Weighs a Ton by Drew Estate, which is a flavorful cigar included in the lovely Kickin’ Ash With Kayla’s Five Cigar Sampler.
Cheerleader of the Week
