Let’s go ahead and address the biggest NFL season scandal to hit since Michael Vick was indicted on dog fighting, as well as interstate gambling charges. He then spent 2 years in Leavenworth Federal prison. If you have read my blogs, you know that my thoughts were that was not NEAR enough (check out the link if you want, but enough of that piece of crap). Now it is time to move on to the next ‘black eye’ put on the league.
My first problem with this entire situation is that when this happened, nobody from the league office or the Ravens organization ever asked to see the video of what happened inside the elevator. From my understanding, TMZ (who released the video), just asked the casino for a copy of it and they sent it to them without a thought. My second problem is unless Ray Rice lied to both Roger Goodell and the Ravens front office, why does the video of what he did inside the elevator make it worse than him telling them that he hit his wife in the face? Clearly he knocked her unconscious because we all saw the video of him dragging her out of the elevator. All of the sudden, now that you see it happen from the video and the violent way he hit her (plus his careless reaction), now we are up in arms and we have to terminate his contract and ban him from the league. That should have happened way before the second video was released. I think that makes the entire NFL lose credibility in the eyes of the public.
I will end with this: Ray Rice is a coward of a man for hitting a woman. I am not sure there is a justifiable defense for ever touching women in any way that is hurtful. I think the only way anyone would not lose every ounce of respect for you as a man, is if it was in self defense because you were afraid for your life. Clearly this was not the case in this instance.

Fantasy Tip of the Week
I know Jordan Mathews did not have a great week one, but hold onto him, because he will end up having a good year. Start Drew Brees or anyone on the Saints offense this week. I don’t think Browns secondary even with Joe Haden is that good. I think anyone you start from the Saints has a great chance of having a monster week.
Victory Cigar of the Week
I thought that the Punch Gran Puro that I tried last week was meaty and peppery, full-bodied and perfect for after a steak dinner (as you can see by the pictures). It was week one, so I had to go with some steaks!!
This week, I am going to try the Perdomo Reserve Champagne 10th Anniversary Cigar. I will let you know my thoughts on it next week. Not sure what the food menu will be, but I will come up with something good.
