Hi I’m Kelly from CheapHumidors and today we’re going to do an unboxing video. This is the Warlock by Omar Ortez and it’s a beautiful box as you can see, much better once I take the cellophane wrapping off. So let’s slice that off. Always be careful not to cut the box, especially if you’re a box saver; that’s me. This happens to be the Warlock Toro size. It has Toro written on the front and the side, and the other side. No questions about it. The front has double hinges. I like the rustic finish to the corners, trying to be a dovetail but you can definitely see where it’s been put together.
This was number 9 on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 List in 2011. This piece here (depending on where you are in the industry) they call the shelf talker, which I think is totally lame, or it can just be an info. panel. That’s what I like to call it – the info. panel. This piece on the inside, they have placed a sticker in here. It does have an embossed finish on it; you can feel the raised logo with their Warlock symbols with metallic silver paint. And interestingly enough, they have each level with one cigar in it that has been wrapped in black satin. So if you go all the way down to the bottom, you’ll find this satin ribbon redone on each layer. It’s all about the packing.
So just to tell you a little bit about this – it’s 6 inches long with a 54 inch ring gauge and it’s a medium to full strength cigar. There is no cedar panels between each layer, which is fine. It’s just decorative anyway and the companies usually just use it to stamp their logo on it, it’s not really doing anything. The box is enough to protect their cigars as it is. And all the way down to the bottom, there are no surprises in here. Each one does have a closure with a bar code, in case you’re trying to resell them. I’m going to open one up here so you can see what they look like. This has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and a Dominican and Nicaraguan filler.
It’s quite a lovely stick. It’s got the Warlock logo here. I like the band because it’s die-cut and it’s embossed – you can feel the raised emboss and the die-cut is the unique shape. It’s very simple; it doesn’t have a lot going on and it’s not crazy full of detail or insanely ornate, just simple and classy. And the stick looks really good too. Here’s a close-up of the cap. It’s just a beautiful cigar and I can’t wait to try this! It’s going to be in some samplers we have coming up. We have a couple coming up for Halloween that simply have the evil line. This is probably going to be purchased just for that. And it should be a lot of fun to try. Well thanks for watching and this was an unboxing video.
