Hi this is Kelly with CheapHumidors.com and today I’m going to do the unboxing video of the Aging Room Quattro Small Batch F55, that’s a mouthful. This is a concerto size; let’s go ahead and open it up and see what we’ve got here.
I’m sure if you’re familiar with this brand or this stick in particular, you know it received 95 rating in Cigar Aficionado a few years ago. Everyone talks about it; everyone loves it so I thought I would do an unboxing video because we have it hear all of the time, since it is always requested.
It’s not that fancy. It’s really not that special, which is fine because I feel like they put all of their money into the sticks inside. It’s fine; they did what they could on the outside. It’s varnished; it has a high gloss varnish, with Aging Room Quattro Small Batch F55 on the front, with Boutiques Blend in the corner. It’s not really embossed, not super special, it’s black and gold. It does have this ridging on the side repeating the name.
The one thing I think is unique about this is the feature of the funky entry. Instead of a hinge box that you would normally expect to see, this one has a sliding top box. Inside there is this beautiful piece of paper that is embossed, you can take that out. You can see here that they took a couple more of the same sheets of paper and bent them in half and used them actually as tabs so you can pull up on them and see that they have given you some really nice Spanish cedar trays for free in here. That was really nice of them. You don’t see that done very often. Long after the boxes are gone and you decide to keep the trays, it has two, and you can put them in your huge humidor. And look how much money you have saved yourself, because we sell them for about ten dollars apiece. You just bought a box, and you got two for free.
We’ll take one out of the box; there are two trays of ten.
The band itself is pretty simple. It says Aging Room on there and it actually has a footer which is a nice little extra. It’s nice to put in your cigar journal, and go ahead and fill up that huge sticker area. We leave it so big because some do have footers and we want you to be able to stick both in there. This has embossing on it, full foil, and a blue F55 going on in here which doesn’t seem to match anything else on the whole stick, but we’ll let it go.
It smells great. I’m just sitting here turning it like “wow that smells amazing and fresh.” It is not dye cut, most of these that I do have a dye cut band but this one does not; it is just a straight cut on the bottom.
So the box doesn’t knock you off your feet, but the thing is that this cigar will. With the rating it was given, it’s one of Kayla’s top ten, she absolutely loves this stick. It gets great reviews anytime anyone has smoked it.
Again I feel like they’re putting the money in the stick and not the box. One way you can tell something like that is they have just introduced a cigar box recycling project where they have select boxes that if you collect nine they will send you a prepaid label to send them back and then they will send you a big check for the boxes so they can reuse them. So that’s how you know they are trying to cut corners on all this stuff that you don’t need to smoke and put it into the stuff you do want to smoke.
A unique thing about this cigar is that it’s box pressed and yet, the package doesn’t say anything about it. This is a Sumatra wrapper, Dominican binder filler. It looks really smooth, almost no veins what so ever. The cap is attached wonderfully; you can’t even tell that there is a separate cap. It just smells so delicious; it is one of the best smelling cigars I have ever smelt right out of the cell.
I hope you liked this review. This is the unboxing of the Aging Room Quattro Small Batch F55, definitely the longest one I’ve had to say. And this is Kelly from CheapHumidors.com. Do you have a cigar box that you want me to dismantle? Please let me know with a message below and I’ll be sure to get to it. Thank you.
