Hi I’m Kelly with Cheap Humidors and this is my unboxing today of the Psyko Seven by Ventura Cigars. One of the reasons I’m doing this, is because Halloween is coming up. Usually you can’t get your hands on these until around mid October. Last year, we were too late and we weren’t able to have them in stock either. So let’s unbox.
So the first thing you notice is the stylings of the box with a bright white with piano finish, which is pretty unusual in the cigar industry; there aren’t too many that go as bold as white. Obsidian is the only other one I can think of off the top of my head, so it’s pretty unique right there. You’ll notice right here it’s got the pro cigar seal from the association of the Dominican Republic cigar manufacturers. It’s got “Psyko Seven” written on this side; make sure you notice that it’s a “K” not a “CH.”
Then we’re going to open it and break the seal. Inside, it’s got the sticker label going on here that says “Psyko Seven.” It’s got cute, kitschy things with silly doctors names on the bottom. It has what it’s made out of and the different tobacco leaves that is used here. It’s at least two color, I would say it’s probably white as a color on this too, so maybe it’s three color. And it’s embossed right here, right here, and here; you can feel the embossing and there’s a sticker inlayed in here.
It’s just so unique. I love the packaging and I like what they did with the theme. It’s different and perfect for times of the year when you want to do spooky things. Here is a stick and I can open it up and show you. Each one is individually wrapped in cellophane. This is the corona size. And I just tore this open and realized that I already opened one, so I don’t need to do this.
Look at the packaging here with the two different bands. So they actually have this one which is another prescription wrapper piece just like this one. And then beneath it, you can peel it off really easily. I was afraid that with a large band, it would actually tear up some of the wrapper, but it doesn’t. It actually protects it a little bit. Then underneath this one, is the other band that they have with “Ventura” on it. The only interesting thing when going through all of the boxes is you can see that it does have a satin ribbon going on in the middle, but with all the red, black, and white, they chose to do a creme ribbon which is kind of weird. It wasn’t a girl who picked that.
And you can go all the way down to the bottom and there’s nothing extra special in the bottom in here, but the ribbon is taped inside. So this is mild to medium and it’s a Dominican hybrid wrapper from the Dominican Republic. Inside the binder is a Mexican Sumatra and the filler is a multiple country blend is what they call it, which is a hodge podge of anything. I think they said it’s six or seven different countries which is fine by me. Hodge podge sometimes makes the best dinner, so why not make the best cigars? I like everything about this packaging and uniqueness, and the comedy that was put into it.
I just think this is a really beautiful cigar and if you want to see it up close, it’s oily with very slight veins. It’s not bad at all. It has really great reviews with a 92 by Cigar Aficionado. So I’d say give this one a try! If there are any other products that you would like me to unbox, please let me know. I’m glad to go through them for you.
