This stubby little cigar comes draped in an alluring, silky smooth Maduro wrapper. The entire stick is plump and well-filled with no soft spots. The cap is perfectly placed and super thick making the cut easy and clean.
Flavor & Cold Draw:
The Black Label has the very distinct fragrance of rich cocoa. The cold draw is complex with notes of cocoa, leather, and earth. Once lit, the flavor profile is deep and rich with notes of leather, wheat, and oak mingled with a hint of light pepper. The hint of pepper disappears in the second third and is replaced by a glimmer of caramel and rich dark chocolate.
Burn & Smoking Characteristics:
The burn is reliably even and slow. Each puff produces plumes of rich smoke that engages the whole pallet. The ash is strong and sturdy and grows to almost 2 inches before the first ash.
This is a delightfully fragrant and multifaceted cigar that is sure to please a variety of pallets. It is a full bodied cigar without the overwhelming spice usually associated with fuller cigars. I give it a strong 8.
