Construction:

The Sun Grown Habano wrapper is a resplendent chestnut brown color peppered with a few petite veins. The stick is flawlessly constructed with well-concealed seams. The length is plump and heartily filled with strong, flavorful ligero tobacco. The cap is super thick and perfectly mounted.

Flavor & Cold Draw:

The foot gives of a pleasant bouquet of young greenery with a slight hint of natural sweetness. The wrapper gives off the gentle scent of coco. The cold draw is earthy with underlying flavors of alfalfa and cedar. The first third is full of spice, leather, and oak. A slightly sweet coco finish develops in the second third. The final third is a mix of toast, leather, and cedar.

Burn & Smoking Characteristics:

The draw is a bit too tight and doesn’t produce enough smoke. The burn is perfectly even and slow, with a total smoking time of 85 minutes. The ash is a dark gray color with black striations, firm and compact.

Conclusion:

This cigar belongs in every smoker’s humidor. Although it is described as a strong, full-bodied cigar, it is not overpoweringly spicy and can be enjoyed by most smokers.
