Cigar Industry Leaders: Stinky
Title: Owner of Stinky Cigar Ashtrays
Where did you grow up? Phoenix, Arizona
Favorite Candy? Snickers but only one on Easter, Halloween and Christmas morning!
Animal? Yes. I’ve been called worse! Oh, my favorite animal? Dogs. Well behaved dogs. Not angry dogs!
Movie? Ground Hog Day (w/Bill Murray) or Multiplicity (w/ Michael Keaton) or Arthur (w/ Dudley Moore)
Band? Yes. I played the trombone in the high school marching band. Lately, the Beatles or the Rolling Stones.
Food? Yes! Low carb and lots of it!
Sports Team? All of the above! I just enjoy the games! I’m not what you’d call a ‘sports fan’ but enjoy watching Baseball & Football.
If your house was on fire, what would be the first item you would grab? Interesting question! First thought was “the dog” but, the more I thought about it, she’d probably be the first one out! Is it engulfed in flame? Or, is the stove top on fire? Given time, I’d probably grab the computers! That reminds me, I gotta renew the backup service!
If you were a superhero what powers would you have? Mind reading! I just wanna know what you’re really thinking!
If your life had a theme song, what would it be? “Stinky Stinky Ashtray” by Bossa Brava 1998 (soundtrack attached)
If you had a warning label, what would yours say? Warning: Fragile! Handle with care!
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go? European vacation!
Cigar: Variety is my favorite cigar. Every cigar moment is different. Which cigar to enjoy is influenced by the time of day, how much time we have, food, drink, mood, etc.
Lighter: I typically use a double burner Torch. I will use different lighters at hand, but carry a double burner torch. However, the lighter in my office is a big ole single flame torch from Harbor Freight, because my son gave it to me on Father’s Day 10 years ago.
Cutter: Different strokes for different folks! My most common cut is a punch cutter because it makes a clean hole that resists unraveling. I always carry 2 brass casings in my pocket (with a rubber cap to protect the edge). One is a 45 caliber for larger ring gauge cigars and the other is a 38 caliber or smaller ring sizes. Of course I carry an old XiKar X2 from 1999. Still sharp and works best on the Torpedo shape.
Humidor: I only have 2 (desk top) humidors. Each has sentimental value to me. I don’t collect or hoard cigars because I enjoy trying what’s new. My ‘humidor stash’ is very modest, but sufficient to provide the variety I enjoy.Cigar Industry Leaders to Know: Stinky by David Sabot
